With Spidi now having a new importer unfortunately a suit wasn't available to me Prior to round 5 of the Australian road race championships, but now Ron Angel imports are well on top of things.
It always seems when you get something new the first time you use it it breaks. Well in race 3 of the Tasmania round I found my self playing in the dirt on the outside of turn 2. Thankfully I was able to pick my self up out of the dirt and remount to set the fastest lap time of race 3, and climb my way back up to 11TH position.
The crash was caused by a front end loose and the only thing I can blame that on is myself, any how thanks to Spidi's excellent quality I was able to continue the race without any abrasions to my body and the suit also took the crash well and only sustained a small hole.
When I took my suit to get repaired at Walkalong leather repairs he congratulated me on using suck a quality race suit. He was under the impression that Spidi no longer had an importer in Australia.
This is the first Spidi suit i have ever used, the first thing you will notice with Spidi is how light the suit is. Compared the the suit I had been using for the first half of the year the Spidi is just under 2KG lighter. The next thing I
noticed after using the Spidi is how ventilated the suit is, Sweet difference between the two suits is incomparable saying that, at a cold day at Phillip island I would think you may get a little to cold in the Spidi.
The main feature you will find with my new suit is the 1 liter Hydro pack. I have not used the Hydro pack yet but For the Hughie Hall Endurance later in the year this suit will be my secrete hydration weapon.
