After a great Rd 2 Chas was determined to make it a double win for Rd 3, and it was all looking good.
In race 1 Chas got the first hole shot of his road racing career and lead the field into turn 1 he managed to start pulling away from the field and felt very comfortable with the bike set up. With 3 laps to go he had a 1 second lead over Tim Cowie and was sure Cowie was unable to make a charge, while coming out of turn 10 Chas went to shift up a gear and the bike hit the rev limiter, thinking he made a bad gear change he again tried for the gear but again it was not able to be selected. He peered down to his back wheel and noticed his new fancy Red chain had gone missing. He was able to roll into the pits and handed the motionless bike to his father. It’s real upsetting for Chas and the team, and also friends and family who made the trip out to watch the race.
In race 2 the eyes were red and the Yamaha R6 was on fire. Chas again was second into turn 1 behind Carr just like the race the day before, He followed car for a few laps working out were he would be able to make the best pass. Coming onto the main straight Chas felt he had more corner speed than Carr and got a good run onto him, He managed to pass well before the brake marker into turn 1 and then pulled a gap while Henry and Carr battled for the Minor places.
It was a good but upsetting day For The Stafford Yamaha/ Hern Engineering/ Blugreen multimedia Yamaha R6 Race team. We were so upset not taking the 2 wins today but that is what happens in racing and with Mallala coming soon we are now full focus on Rd 4.
Thanks again to all the Sponsors and dad and Gen for all the help this weekend with out a good team it would be impossible to finish up the front. We now sit 4th in the Championship and with very little points difference between the top 5 riders, It’s going to be a battle to the end.
