In Race one Chas made a good start and battled hard with the factory Kawasaki for most of the race. As the laps went on Chas's bike set up proved to play havoc with the rear tyre. With only a hand full of laps remaining he lost tow with Ben Attard and was circulating in the low 1.10 lap times. A last lap lunge from Brody Waters was fought off and Chas hung on for a 7th over all and 3rd Privateer.
In Race 2 the team opted for a harder compound rear tyre, one that Chas had never raced on before. It took a few laps to build up confidence in the harder tyre, being a little unpredictable compared to the softer comp tyre used for the first half of the year. Chas still managed to set a lap time only .0100 off his race 1 time but because he took longer to get to pace he dropped back to 11th over all and finished 6th privateer.
We would like to give a big thanks to local spray painter Jamie Videon for all his help over the weekend. He was able to help Chas reach his PB around the Mallala circuit and also record his best finish to date in the Super-Sport Class. Thanks also to Ross Finlayson for helping out again.
Also a big thanks to Marty and Angela from Underground Design for their hospitality over the weekend and all the support Marty has given Chas throughout the year.
