Pope Building Services/Chas Hern Racing turns up the heat up North
At round two of the Australian Super-bike Championships, Suzuki Pro-Stock front runner Chas Hern worked through the sizzling 34 degree weather to move up to second position in the series.
As this was the first time the team had seen the 2.9km Hidden Valley circuit, the team arrived Wednesday afternoon and set up for the first outing on Thursday morning. With track temperatures reaching 45o plus and the option of a softer rear tyre for the first time, much was needed to be tested before the two 17 lap races on Sunday.
At round 1 of the A.S.B.K Chas hern put the PTR/ High Octane motorcycles Suzuki GSXR 1000 on the podium with 2 Third place finishes at Phillip Island. With help from Pope Building Servises, New South Wales compensation lawyers and Under Ground Designs it was the first time the bike had been on the track. A full race report will be up soon.
At the final round of the A.S.B.K [Australian super-bike Championships] in Phillip Island, the Chas Hern racing/ High Octane Motorcycles/ Pope Building Services Race team had a very tough weekend. Wild Weather and some bike issues caused a bumpy 3 days of competition.
With exciting news for new sponsors Chas hern will be a full rider again in 2012. The team have also secured 2 New Honda CBR 1000RR fireblades, and on the teams first outing at last weekends Australian Formula Xtreme Championships Chas managed to take pole posistion on both Saturday and Sunday as well as four out of six Race wins. The Chas Hern Racing team made their deabut at Phillip Island last weekend at the first round of the Victorian Inter Club Championships. The 2011 Team cosists of Chas Hern, Danny Gibson, Genevieve Stumpf and Richard Marrochini. It was the first time out for both Gen and Danny for the year and also Dannys first ride on the GSXR 1000 Suzuki.
At the first round of the Australian Formula Xtreme Championships Team Chas Hern Racing/ Panel Body Line Works/ Hi Octane motorcycles Kicked off with two new Bikes. Chas Aboard the HI Octane Yamaha R1 and Richard aboard the New Panel Body Line Works 1098 Ducati and is also defending his Formula 400 2010 Championship. A full race report will be up next week.
Last minute arrangements led Chas towards an early start to Racing in 2011. He was contacted last week and a deal to ride a Yamaha R6 at the round one of the Victorian Hartwell club Championships at Winton [short Track] was sealed. The bike owned by Michael [Jack] Halliday and preped by Panel Line Body Works.
